Branding & Visual Identity

The goal of The Lucky Joint Club was to enhance customer retention among our long-standing clients while also providing greater incentives and engagement for new customers. I began by researching The Hemp Doctor's competitors and their loyalty programs, examining the incentives they offer and how they foster a sense of community and culture within their established brands. By implementing attainable incentives suitable for a brick-and-mortar business and refining the tier structure, we transformed the original loyalty program into a hub for cannabis culture and wellness.

Aimed to bridge the gap between nostalgic Americana and modern cannabis culture. We start by stripping back the aesthetic to North Carolina summer camps—think 1970s iron-on patches and fireside jamborees. Keeping it slightly playful with Caprisimo as the main font choice to give a groovy edge, and paired with a modern script to blend easily with The Hemp Doctor's original branding. The core of the visual identity is anchored in a classic pennant flag in the logo mark, reimagined as a symbol of both destination and relaxation.

The Hemp Doctor originally had two tiers to signify newcomers and VIP customers. We have since added three more tiers based on customer spending and quarterly sales, which provide extra discounts for VIPs. With the addition of the Gardener, Botanist, and Kingpin titles, customers can easily see their VIP ranking and access more exclusive content, all while increasing their average order value.

Does A Stoner Smoke in The Woods?

The answer is yes, earning points and gaining rewards from just making an account to engaging in sales from Black Friday to 4/20, we implemented "Lucky Joint Days," offering incentives only to those who sign up.

"The Canteen" was a bonus to boost that Cannabis Camper feel, having themed product bundles that go hand in hand with North Carolina's hiking and lake culture.
